Dr. Swapan De presented in emergency with sudden cardiac death. Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation(CPR) was given for more than half an hour and the patient survived. Diagnosed to be a case of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with recurrent ventricular Tachycardia / Fibrillation with sudden cardiac death. The patient was later taken to the cath lab and implanted ICD (Implantable Cardiac Defibrillator ) on 23.02.2012. The patient went home and is now absolutely okay.
