About- Lichen planus also called lichen ruber planus is an inflammatory condition of the skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes.

Burning mouth syndrome

Purplish, flat-topped lesions or bumps, mostly on the inner forearm, wrist, or ankle

Scalp discoloration

Thin white lines over the rash

Vaginal ulcers

White patches in the mouth, inside the cheeks, or on the gums, lips, or tongue

Causes-
The exact reason is not clearly understood. It is an autoimmune disorder that means it occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks cells of the skin or mucous membranes. Some trigger factors include

Exposure to certain pigments, chemicals, and metals

Hepatitis C infection

Intake of pain relievers and other medications for heart disease, high blood pressure, or arthritis
