Burning Mouth Syndrome

About- Burning mouth syndrome (BMS) also called glossodynia is a condition that causes a burning, scalding, or tingling sensation in the mouth usually on the roof of the mouth, tongue, gums, and lips.
 
Symptoms-
 A burning or scalded sensation
Bitter or metallic taste
Dry mouth sensation
 Increased thirst
Loss of taste
Mouth ulcer
 
Causes-
 Acid reflux
 Allergic reaction to materials used in dentures
Allergies
Anxiety 
Bruxism (Teeth grinding)
Certain medications
Consuming too many acidic drinks
Damaged taste or pain-controlling nerves 
Depression
Diabetes
Dry mouth (xerostomia)
Excessive brushing
High blood sugar
Hormonal imbalances, such as those associated with menopause
Hypothyroidism
Immune system problem
Nutritional deficiency, such as iron, zinc, or B vitamin deficiency
Oral thrush
Overuse of mouthwashes
Poorly fitted Dentures
Reaction to certain toothpaste
