He serves as the President of the Indian Academy of Diabetes, having previously held the position of Dean at the Indian College of Physicians and currently chairs the International Diabetes Federation for the South East Asia Region. He has also been the Past President of several organizations, including the Endocrine Society of India (ESI), the Association of Physicians of India (API), the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI), the Hypertension Society of India (HSI), and the All India Association of Advancement for Research in Obesity, which is an IASO Affiliate (AIAARO). Additionally, he is the Founder Vice President of The PCOS Society and has served as the Ex Secretary of the Indian Thyroid Society (ITS). He holds the position of Hon. Emeritus Editor for the Journal of The Association of Physicians of India (JAPI) and is the Chief Editor of both the Journal of Medical Nutrition and Nutraceuticals and the Indian Journal of Medical Sciences (IJMS). He was a member of the 8th edition of the International Diabetes Federation Atlas in 2017. Furthermore, he is an Executive member of the Diabetes Asia Study Group (DASG) and the Immediate Past Chapter Chair for India of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE). He has previously taught Medicine at Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Group of Hospitals, as well as Endocrinology at Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital. He has achieved the distinction of topping all years of his MBBS, MD, and DM programs, earning Gold Medals in each. With over 800 research publications to his name, he has also served as an Ex-Editor for the Indian Journal of Obesity, the Indian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism, the Indian Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, and various other prominent medical journals. He is a visiting faculty member at numerous Indian and international universities. His work in Endocrinology encompasses evidence-based research in areas such as Diabetes, Obesity, Thyroid disorders, Osteoporosis, and Growth.
