Independently operating senior Adult Cardiac surgeon. Overall, to date, I have performed more than 1400 CABG and 400 valve replacements (Aortic/ Mitral or Double Valve Replacements) as the primary surgeon. I have also been exposed to an extensive array of complex Aortic Aneurysms and Mitral / Aortic valve repair surgery. In my years in London, I was extensively involved with the TAVI team with St Thomas’s Hospital being a pioneering centre in the field of TAVI. During my training days, I had also been exposed to adult cardiac transplants. I have consistently provided very good outcomes in all my patients with minimal mortality (as per international standards). I have recently embarked on a few cases of Minimally invasive procedures on selected patients and hope to make this my standard procedure for the foreseeable future. Another significant achievement has been in setting up almost singlehandedly an Adult Cardiac Surgery Centre in Chittagong, Bangladesh under the banner of Narayana Healthcare India starting from scratch to having successfully completed 45 open heart surgeries between Dec 2020 – Feb 2022 with no mortality or serious morbidity. This is a 300 bedded hospital where Narayana Health was undertaking the provisions for providing Cardiac Sciences services. Since its delayed inception due to the pandemic, I along with my team have performed 45 critical open-heart surgeries with no 30-day mortality or morbidity. Unfortunately, the project was terminated by the Narayana Group of Hospitals due to certain logistic and compliance issues with the partnering hospital in Bangladesh. Acquired the coveted FRCS CTh examination from the Royal Colleges of Surgeons and conducted by the JCI.
