Syringomyelia

About- Syringomyelia is a medical condition in which a fluid-filled cyst (syrinx) developed within the spinal cord, which may enlarge and damage the spinal cord.  
 
Symptoms-
 Muscle atrophy and weakness in the neck, shoulders, arms, hands, and legs
 Pain and stiffness in the neck, arms, leg, and shoulder
 Back pain and stiffness
 Loss of reflexes
 Loss of sensitivity to pain and temperature
 Scoliosis
 Bowel and bladder malfunction
 Difficulty walking
 Facial pain and numbness
 
Causes-
It's unclear exactly how and why
Syringomyelia happens. The possible causes are
 Chiari malformation
 Meningitis
 Spinal cord tumor
 Tethered spinal cord
 Spinal cord injury
 Hemorrhage
