I was born and spent the early years of my life in a small village of Bardhaman District, West Bengal. Then I got an opportunity to study in the prestigious Ramakrishna Mission Boys' Home High School, Rahara. I was in the Ramakrishna Mission hostel for 6 years and passed Madhyamik (Class 10 board exam) from there. Afterwards, I passed Higher Secondary (Class 10+2 board exam) from Bidhannagar Govt High School. Upon successful completion of my 12th board exam, I secured an opportunity to study in second oldest medical college of West Bengal named R G Kar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata. From this premiere institute, I was awarded my MBBS degree. Due to an inherent passion to help people, and because of my tremendous urge to heal the unsettled minds, I wanted to pursue further specialization in Psychiatry. For this, cracked the highly competitive post graduate entrance examination, and did post graduate training in Psychiatry, from Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital (CNMCH). Calcutta Pavlov Hospital is the largest mental hospital of West Bengal as well as second campus of CNMCH. I spent three years there, as a Post Graduate Trainee (PGT) under guidance of renowned psychiatrists namely Prof. Dr. Ashis Mukhopadhyay and Prof. Dr. Srijit Ghosh. Following completion, I was awarded MD (Psychiatry) degree from West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS). I am also indebted to Dr. Sibasis Roy and Dr. Alok Kumar Mandal for their relentless effort to support me in this quest for learning. I obtained DNB (Psychiatry) degree from National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, New Delhi in 2021. Later on I achieved Diploma in Community Mental Health (DCMH) and Advanced Certificate Course in Management of Addictive Disorder (ACCMAD) degrees from NIMHANS, Bangaluru.
