The only way to diagnose endometriosis is through a minor surgical procedure called laparoscopy. The procedure involves looking inside your abdomen for patches of endometriosis. The doctor also might check whether scar tissue or adhesions are blocking your fallopian tubes or distorting your reproductive organs.
