About- Thyroid nodules are solid or fluid-filled lumps that form within the thyroid (a small gland located at the base of the neck)

Symptoms-
 Goitre
 Pain and swelling at the base of the neck
 Shortness of breath
 Rapid or irregular heartbeat
 Difficulty swallowing
 Unexplained weight loss
 Excessive Sweating
 Essential Tremor
 Nervousness
 Hoarse voice
 Muscle weakness 

Causes-

 Iodine deficiency
 Overgrowth of normal thyroid tissue
 Thyroid Cysts
 Multinodular goitre
 Thyroid cancer
 Hashimoto’s disease
 Thyroiditis 

Risk Factors

 X-rays performed on the thyroid in infancy or childhood
 Preexisting thyroid condition, such as thyroiditis or Hashimoto’s disease
 A family history of thyroid nodules
 Older age 60 years or older
