About- Scoliosis is a sideways curvature of the spine that occurs most often during the growth spurt just before puberty. 
 
Symptoms-
 Uneven shoulders
 One shoulder blade that appears more prominent than the other
 Uneven waist
 Uneven hips
 A rotating spine
 Shortness of breath due to the reduced area in the chest for lungs to expand
 Back pain

Causes-
Exact causes are still not known. The probable causes are
 Hereditary factors
 Cerebral palsy
 Muscular dystrophy
 Birth defects such as spina bifida
 Spinal injuries or infections
