Dr. Jyoti Matalia is the head of Pediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus & Neuro-ophthalmology at Narayana Nethralaya-2, Narayana Health City, Bangalore, India. She is in charge of postgraduate training at her institute and runs fellowship programs in pediatric ophthalmology and has trained 20 fellows till date. She received her basic medical education from B.Y.L.Nair Hospital, Mumbai and postgraduate training in ophthalmology from Mumbai University. She underwent fellowship training in her speciality at L.V. Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India and completed her ICO fellowship at the Wilmer Eye Institute, USA. She is a volunteer faculty of ORBIS International to teach and train ophthalmologists in developing countries. She has more than 40 publications to her credit in peer-reviewed national and international journals. She has presented at conferences in India and abroad and made several national and international award winning teaching videos. Her areas of interest include pediatric cataract and complicated strabismus and teaching is her passion.
