Practices as a consultant neurotologist in Kolkata. He has been the pioneer in establishing the medical discipline of neurotology in India and the neighboring countries. Dr Biswas is well-known for his contribution to the development and popularisation of medical audiology and neurotology among doctors in India and abroad. He has been singularly responsible for generating interest in the subject of neurotology and helping doctors in establishing specialised vertigo clinics in the Indian sub-continent. Books authored by him are very popular among ENT specialists, neurologists and medical specialists who treat patients of vertigo and deafness. His unique contribution to the discipline is developing the science of vestibular physiotherapy for rehabilitation of balance disorder patients. He has held very important and responsible posts in national and international scientific bodies and has been awarded at international forums for his contribution to the development of the science of neurotology. .

Dr. Anirban Biswas practices in therapeutic and diagnostic neurotology in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Neurotology is branch of medical science that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of vertigo (i.e. balance disorders), deafness (i.e. hearing disorders) and tinnitus (buzzing sound in the ears). He was the PRESIDENT of the ASSOCIATION OF OTOLARYNGOLOGISTS of INDIA for the year 2010-2011 and the PRESIDENT of the NEUROTOLOGICAL and EQUILIBRIOMETRIC SOCIETY of India from 1999 to 2001. Dr Anirban Biswas was the EDITOR of the Indian Journal of Otolaryngology & Head and Neck surgery (2000-2005) and was also a member of the editorial board of the International Tinnitus Journal published from USA. He was the VICE PRESIDENT of the International Neurotological and Equilibriometric Society and the PRESIDENT of the Indian Academy of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. Currently he is the editor of the Annals of Otology and Neurotology which is the official scientific journal of the Indian Society of Otology (ISO).
