Professional Statement of Dr. Anirban Das

Dr Anirban Das is a Consultant in the Department of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. He completed his MBBS from Medical College Kolkata in 2009. In 2012, he completed his MD in Pediatrics from the Advanced Pediatric Center at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, considered the premier institute for training in Pediatrics in the country. In 2015, he was awarded his DM in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology (PHO) from PGIMER, the foremost institute in India in providing a training program in the discipline. Throughout his academic career, he has received numerous accolades, including gold medals, awards and scholarships, in particular, the BC Roy award for best medical student (2009) and the Dr RK Marwaha PHO chapter paper of the year (2015). He was also awarded the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP) scholarship for his DM dissertation in 2015, and has publications in both Indian and international journals of repute to his credit. He is a life-member of the PHO chapter of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics and the Indian Pediatric Oncology group (InPOG). His interests lie in benign hematology, pediatric solid tumors and supportive care.
