In just over quarter of a century, EKO X-Ray & Imaging Institute has evolved into a Premier Institute of Diagnosis, not just in Kolkata, but also across the nation. The institute was also the first to go into a joint venture with the State Government to provide medical diagnostic facilities at Govt. rates to under-privileged people.
With Dr S K Sharma at the helm, and the continuous efforts of his handpicked team of Medical and Para-medical personnel, the Institute achieved one milestone after another. From setting the standard ever higher in Diagnostics, the Institute reached a new dimension in Medical Teaching winning approval and sanction of The National Board of Examinations for DNB training in Radio-diagnosis. The Institute also offers training in specialty subjects like Ultrasonography, Echocardiography, MRI, C.T. Scan, to name a few. Based on the abiding faith and trust reposed on the institute by the medical fraternity and from the patients, EKO became a resource center that would provide all sorts of technically refined diagnostic facilities under one roof so that patient or doctor would not have to run from pillar to post for diagnosis.
Not content with providing the best in diagnostic and therapeutic care, Dr Sharma moved further away from commercialization of the Institute. He went into socially relevant, medically specific education and training, in a sincere effort to upgrade awareness and knowledge about new technologies available in the world by way of imaging modality. This institute was also the first to go into a joint venture with the State Government to provide medical diagnostic facilities at Govt. rates to under-privileged people. The institute has installed a dual slice CT Scanner and 1.5T with 33 mt gradation MRI at the Calcutta Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata.
