Is Hair Transplant Painful

Many people who are afraid of hair transplantation often ask," Is hair transplant painful?". They are also afraid of its after-effects and further loss. But nothing to worry about when new and modern techniques and dedicated clinics with diligent service providers are there to help and solve hair loss issues.

Why hair transplantation?

Extreme thinning of hair or almost going bald.

Required or prominent among youngsters for untimely baldness because society won’t let them survive peacefully.

Two Usually applied methods

• FUE – Follicular Unit Extraction

The donor skin (an area that has excessive hair ) acts as a strong base from where straps of hair are extracted. But it is immediately covered up after the job. Although it may look very natural because not an abundance of hair is available to fully cover up that area.

• FUT – Follicular Unit Transplant

Strip Harvesting is done from the Donor area, then strip slivering, then graph dissection, and then graph insertion. It's an old process as compared to FUE. Takes a longer time also.

Merits and Demerits of Hair Transplantation

Merits

  • It is definitely to hide or cover up baldness. Applicable for both male pattern baldness and women’s thinning of hair.
  • Hair can be gained after going through any severe process which requires chemotherapy or anything drastic.
  • Society’s mocking and harsh criticisms can be eradicated to an extent.

Demerits

  • Extreme graphing and insertion and this repetition can lead to severe bleeding on the scalp. But after that, proper medication can lead to the stoppage of bleeding.
  • At times, infection followed by swelling can take place depending on the type and condition of the treatment. But keeping yourself under the cool and fresh wind of the air conditioner or application of any lotion or anti-biotic (as prescribed by the doctor) can be soothing.
  • Itching sensations and looks like a newly gained set of hair. Often the loss of the newly achieved transplanted hair also takes place. Proper and thorough care should be given to the hair and scalp right after the transplantation.

Is Hair Transplant Painful?

Now the most important and central topic arises. Is hair transplantation painful or not? Well, generally people tend to give a very shocking and awe-full look when they hear about this artificial method. After all, nothing can actually beat natural possession. But the advanced methods are there to reduce the pain to a great extent if not totally.

• Proper Anesthesia is given to act as a painkiller. When plucking and insertion of hair will be done, it is very obvious and natural that the pain will be there. So local anesthesia is given. The majority of the pain is eaten up by that only. It feels like an ant or a mosquito bite.

• Often pain killers or pain reliever medications are given to reduce the pain.

• Even though mild pain is expected, the surgeons do take care of it. The brain should not be able to receive or detect any signal like that. A special kind of device is used to deflect or sidetrack the brain.

• Eradicating fear, anxiety, stress, and tension. That’s the most important thing. The negative emotions should be immediately cut off right after entering the surgery room.
