Torn Meniscus

About- A torn meniscus is a common injury in which forceful twisting or rotating knees cause meniscus to tear in the knee. A meniscus is C-shaped pieces of cartilage that act as a cushion between the shinbone and the thighbone. 

Symptoms-
 A popping sensation
 Difficulty straightening the knee fully
 Feeling of the locked knee while moving
 Pain, especially when twisting or rotating the knee
 Swelling or stiffness
 
Causes-
 Aggressive pivoting
 Sudden stops and turns
 Kneeling or deep squatting
 Lifting something heavy
 Degenerative changes of the knee for older adults
 Participating in some sports such as football, basketball, soccer, tennis
