About- Genital herpes is a common sexually transmitted disease (STD) caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV) and passed on through vaginal, anal, and oral sex.

Causes-

Genital herpes is generally caused by the herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV1), which can be spread through sexual contact and skin-to-skin contact. Women are more prone to have this disease than men. Having multiple sex partners is a risk factor for this disease.
