Costochondritis

About- Costochondritis also known as chest wall paincostosternal syndrome, or costosternal chondrodynia is an inflammation of the cartilage that connects a rib to the breastbone. 

Symptoms-
 Pain may affect more than one rib
 Pain may increase during deep breathing or coughing
Pain may radiate to the back, or the abdomen
Pain on the left side of the breastbone
Sharp, aching, or pressure-like Pain

Causes-
 Arthritis
 Chest trauma or Injury
Joint infections including respiratory tract infections (RTIs) and wound infections
Physical strain from activities, such as heavy lifting and strenuous exercise
Severe coughing 
 Syphilis
Tuberculosis 
Tumors in the costosternal joint region
Wear and tear
