Dr. Basab Mukherjee Profile

Dr. Basab Mukherjee is a fourth generation gynaecologist practicing in Kolkata for nearly two decades. He completed his medical schooling from the prestigious Christian Medical College, Vellore before he obtained his Royal College membership from London in 2000. Upbringing in a robust medical background receiving training from a premium institution and quality hands-on training from his father Dr.Basudeb Mukherjee places Dr. Mukherjee in a unique position. Besides his busy clinical work, Dr. Mukherjee is actively involved in academia and public awareness activities. He holds administrative posts at the state, national and international levels. He is the current Vice President of the Bengal Obstetric and Gynaecological Society and a fellow representative of the AICC RCOG East Zone. Dr. Mukherjee is also the elected Vice President for the National Organization FOGSI for the year 2021. He is a former Technical Resource Group member in Family Planning to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India. Dr. Mukherjee holds the post of FIGO Regional Coordinator for South Asia in the committee overseeing Safe Abortion Practices.
