About- Stress fractures also called hairline fractures, are tiny cracks in a bone, caused by repetitive force, mostly from overuse. 

Symptoms-
 Swelling
 Pain and tenderness
 Bruising

Causes-
 Participating in certain sports such as track and field, basketball, tennis, dance or gymnastics.
 Active training regimen
 Women, with abnormal or absent menstrual periods
 Foot problems like having flat feet or high, rigid arches
 Worn footwear
 Weakened bones due to so medical conditions including osteoporosis
 Previous Stress fractures
 Lack of vitamin D, calcium and other nutrients
