Eyelid bag surgery (blepharoplasty) takes approximately 1 hour to complete depending on the type and size of your excision and the amount of fat in your upper eyelids. The good news is that patients generally do not need to stay long after they are taken home because they should be able to see well enough with their other eye, however some physicians prefer that patients wait several hours or sleep most of the day before driving themselves back home.
